Favorite Send to FastDrawWhile watching the Michigan vs Colorado State game today, I noticed a simple action that was used early in transition. Using cuts/rubs to move defenders is the key. You will be able to get a nice post entry to your inside post on the block, a 3-point look off the back screen or high low action. Follow more #FastModelMadness22 here See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw2019-2020 Drake University women's team overall offense ranked in the 97th percentile averaging 0.936 PPP. Their secondary break was a big part of their success on offense. They stretch defenses early creating early scoring opportunities with their cutting and screening. Here are 2 options I diagrammed. *New customers use code SAVE10 for 10% OFF Draw/Scout* See More

Favorite Send to FastDraw"Flood" is a secondary break action, which ends with 3 options. The best option is a lob to the trailer, after the backscreen from the 1. The second option is the 1, on the out cut, for a shot. The third option is the 1 passing high/low to the 4. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Chicago Bulls are trying to make a playoff push, late in the 2016-2017 season. They used this secondary break multiple times in the 2nd half of their win over the Philadelphia 76ers. It resulted in numerous baskets, allowing the Bulls guards to get downhill in the pick and roll. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLouisville used this Secondary Break in their 2017 NCAA Tournament game against Jacksonville State. The break utilizes a ball reversal, false motion, and a ball screen to manipulate the zone defense. It creates a 3-on-2 advantage in the high post, or a 2-on-1 advantage on the weak side. This resulted in back-to-back baskets for the Cardinals. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is the base action of the UNC Tar Heels Secondary Break. It begins with a rebound and wide outlet pass. Post makes hard RIM RUN! On ball reversal through the trailer, the wing goes over the block to backscreen for trailer. If ball is not in the the air for lob, cross screen and look to enter to 5 or run your termination offense. The video shows some counters for the break and a step out three by the back-screener! Favorite Send to FastDrawVCU used these secondary break actions successfully in their NCAA matchup with Ohio State. Defending actions requires great awareness and communication by all five defenders, and the Rams were able to catch OSU sleeping to hit a early 3. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a 5 Out alignment for a flare screen three. This becomes a pretty natural option in a secondary break setting. Simply initiating a DHO can be a trigger to execute the action without any play call. I like the action because it stretches the defense side to side. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a secondary break action to create options on both sides of the court - a post up and a stagger screen. I like the ball is reversed before half court, creating a good flow to offense. The more help in the post, the more likely the stagger is open, and the more attention paid to the stagger, the more likely the post will be open.
