NC State ran this against the Syracuse 2-3 Zone in the 2014 ACC Tournament.
1 passes to 2 on the wing. 3 cuts into the high post area.
2 passes back to 1 at the top of the key. 1 most hold the ball for 2 counts (thousand one, thousand two) before driving down the middle.
As soon as 2 passes back to 1 (and 1 is holding for a two count), 2 will cut across and screen the opposite top zone defender. 3 (in the middle/high post) will screen the other top zone defender. This is like inside out screens by 2 and 3.
1 penetrates down the middle and looks to make a play in the paint. 1 can shoot a jump shot, or if X5 steps up, 1 can pass down/lob to either 4 or 5.
