Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a BLOB play to create a gap drive. If you have a player that can operate in tight space, this play fits with that skill set. Having a shooter in the corner makes the defense decide if they are going to help or allow the 1v1 attack. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at play design for a point guard to drive the ball to an empty baseline. They can decide to drive as an isolation, or to skip the pass to the back side for a hammer set. Either way, the defense is misdirected with the fake hand off, and stretched side to side with the hammer action. This set is gold. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a empty side clear out for the point guard. I like this action because it creates movement for the defense before getting to the clear out. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a early offense option out of the horns push gate series. The gate action keeps a lot of defense occupied, and creates space for the point guard clear out. This was a common look as Player of the Year Aliyah Boston inbounds the ball, and while action occupies the defense, she steps in for a post catch. Send to FastDraw using button above. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a designed transition flow to create confusion for the defense, and a gap to attack for the offense. I love how quick and smoothe the offense gets into the action. It's easy to see defenses miscommunicating this action. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a drill to work on post sealing and footwork. This drill uses guided defense to work on our single pivots series. These pivots are simple and effective once mastered. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play to clear out the defense for a drive from the point guard. This is kind of like the barking dog play - "hey, look over here so we can do something else." If the circle up draws enough attention, it may work every once in a while. This is best used in a series of plays that all start out of this alignment, with this play being more of a "special" for end of quarters. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play with a few different options. Entering the ball to the elbow isn't as easy as it looks, but if you can get the ball there, it opens up some options. The flare stretches the defense side to side, and the back screen into the screen the screener can punish the defense whether they switch the screens or get through. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of the Princeton alignment. This set capitalizes on the normal chin action in the offense to throw the defense for a loop by re-screening to the top of the key. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a 1-2-2 alignment. This play has intelligent design. The down screens (not shown in the diagram) allow for clean wing catch. The UCLA screen allows the ball to be reversed cleanly. The slice screen is little on big, so the defense will have a hard time switching it. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a box alignment. This play is pretty easy to execute, and uses screening to be able to catch the entry pass in a great location to feed the post. The slip into the duck puts the defense to sleep before punching it inside. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a long form play with multiple options. I like these style of plays because you just need to catch the defense slipping on one of the actions to create an advantage. The stagger may create a shot behind the hand off, or a pass to the roller after the hand off. The flare stretches the defense side to side, and the slip is a chance for an easy basket if the defense is sleeping. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a long form set play with multiple options. You can run the play all the way through, but likely you won't need to because something will be open before then. I love how much movement there is in the action, always keeping the defense busy. There are multiple ball screen options, and multiple options for cutting options.
