Favorite Send to FastDrawThese are a pair of plays the UVA Cavaliers ran against Cal on 12/22/2015. What makes this set so great is that they were both run out of time outs with a minute or less left in OT and had progreession. The defense was prepared for the second time, however UVA added another action when the initial look was not open. Hat Tip to @coachmurphhoops for the find. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis final timeout designed play by Tony Bennett would prove to be the game winner for the Virginia Cavaliers in their match-up with the Golden Bears of CAL. Run from the same Box Set as the previous action which yielded a 3 pt make from Brogdon (15), this time Brogdon again moves down the lane, fist in the air and quickly cuts baseline around the screen from Wilkins (21). Perrantes (32) dribbles over and makes the pass and then quickly cuts away and then when Gill (13) is set, Perrantes (32) sprints off the screen and receives a well placed and timed pass for the game winning 3 pt shot. Tony Bennett really did a great job last night in clock management, maximizing his timeouts with 3 set plays that are gems and can be filed away by any Coach for future similar situations! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLast night the Cavaliers were taken to the limit against the Golden Bears of Cal. Tony Bennett designed three consecutive timeout plays each of which yielded a basket. This is the first of those timeout plays. Run from the SLOB situation, the play is set-up by the elbow screen action which gave Brogdon a chance to either "read" and cut to the basket or come back off the "re-screen" action for a possible jumper. Tony Bennett is known for his defensive strategies, but last night these timeout actions he ran with his Cavs only showed what a true mastermind of the game he is. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawAt the end of the 2nd quarter of their final preseason game against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Miami Heat ran this set to Gerald Green to get to the rim for a wide open lay-up. Green came off the wing ball screen attacking the rim, but also had options to pass to a cutting Josh McRoberts or shooters on the perimeter spotting up. This is really good action for an end of shot clock or end of quarter type of set, to get one of your best penetrators and athletes attacking the rim, or if the defense collapses on penetration, a kick out for an open 3-pointer.
