Favorite Send to FastDrawUConn ran this set for a postup late in the first half of the 2015 National Championship game. Although they did not score, the set was run very well and provided multiple options. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn their NCAA matchup with Notre Dame, Northeastern displayed a wonderful motion offense with great movement, multiple ballscreens, and very active bigs. In this play, they set up their motion with a thru cut by the 1, and the result is a duck-in opportunity for the 5 man. Northeastern was able to draw a foul in the post here and put Notre Dame in foul trouble early. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA middle 1/3 ballscreen play with a live dribble is incredibly diffucult for the defense to guard. An easy counter to this play would be to slip the 1st ballscreen. This look is something that Vanderbilt has ran against teams that hedge pick & rolls. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe drill introduces the rooftop concept and 1 on 1 on the ball defense. It can and should be run on both sides of the floor with larger groups, but is depicted only on one side of the floor in this diagram. On-the-ball defenders keep heels on the rooftop and influence ball handler to sideline checkpoint. Establish the proper stance angle, drag hand and lead hand. When offensive player reaches the sideline checkpoint they reverse pivot and heads back up the rooftop. The goal as the ball heads back up the rooftop is to prevent the ball handler from busting through the rooftop. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a good drill for players to work on getting open away from the ball. The defensive player must also work very hard to prevent 1 from making an easy catch. The passer must also work at delivering the pass on time and on target. You can play to a set score or a set number of stops. We will move spots on the floor to increase the difficulty for the offense or defense See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawCan't use your personnel any better, than the New Orleans Pelicans did with this lob play! Anthony Davis and his 35 inch vertical does play a part. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLate in the 2nd quarter of Game 2 of the NBA Finals, the MIami Heat ran this pick & roll play for Lebron James which led to an open 3-pointer for Ray Allen. The spacing by the Miami Heat made this very difficult to guard. The Spurs were forced to defend Lebron on the pick which led to Ray Allen's defender rotating down to help Lebron found him easily on the wing. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat ran this play in the 2012 playoffs to get a lob for Dwyane Wade. The lob action has also been successful for us, but once teams have the play scouted, we've been able to take advantage by inbounding to the screener and setting up a handoff or a down screen option. It is critical that 3 sells the initial zipper cut, as most teams will deny this pass and this will force the defender into a position where he's easier to screen coming back to the basket. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw"Sweep" is a secondary break play run by several teams including Colorado and Harvard. This play is based on the North Carolina approach to secondary break offense made popular by Dean Smith and Roy Williams. This play can be run if you do not have players athletic enough to run the Carolina break for the lob dunk. This play can be run into any kind of a three-around-two offense. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Portland Trailblazers ran this set vs. the Denver Nuggets on January 23, 2014. Wesley Matthews (2) runs at Damian Lilliard's defender (X1) as if to set an on/ball screen. Just before getting to X1 he quickly slipped the screen and faded to the 3-point arc. Both Nugget defenders stayed with Lilliard making for an easy 3-point attempt for Matthews with no other defenders available to rotate to contest the shot. This set takes advantage of the fact that most teams will switch guard-to-guard on/ball screens and the Nuggets got caught anticipating there would be an on/ball screen set. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a play we ran at Illinois State to get an isolation look for our under sized 4 man against their bigger & slower 4 man. It ended up working out so he could just curl the screen to the rim for a lay-up but the play was originally designed for him to pop to the open side of the floor and play 1 on 1. The great thing about this action is there are so many things you can do out of the base iverson cut. See More
