Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a drill from the Billy Donovan Skill Development blog article. This drill is done best with 4 players and 2 coaches. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA quick hitter to get a post touch out of the pick & pop. The pick & pop to a duck in is a tough action to guard for the defense. This set gives you 2 options to score. Timing in the play is really important so that the ball can be entered into the post. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles towards 5 and 4 then passes to 3 cutting up from the corner. 1 quickly cuts around a back-screen from 5 looking for a quick give-and-go pass from 3. If that isn't there, 5 screens for 3 at the top of the key. 3 drives left as 5 rolls and 4 replaces 5. If 5's defender front 5, 3 swings the ball back to 4 who looks to pass hi/lo to 5 or can pass to 2 who looks for the post entry pass. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this box set, 5 screens for every other player on the team! Teaching points: 5's arc screen and 3's downscreen occur at same time We are wanting the curl from 4! 1 waits behind the opposite corner of the backboard 3 fakes the pin screen and reverses out off 5's downscreen Play sets up to get into the offense without "setting it up" See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis BLOB was ran by the University of Maryland to get three for thier best shooter. This is great BLOB to run after a timeout or towards the end of the game if you need a quick three. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAs you have probably noticed in the past few months, we are extremely proud of our NBA and NCAA clients. So proud, in fact, that we take every opportunity to brag about their successes on our website. Last week's "Play of the Day" from Mike Bowden and the University of Maryland Women's Basketball coaching staff was such a huge success, that we have asked them to open their FastDraw playbook to us on a weekly basis, and they have agreed to do so. Maryland Head Coach, Brenda Frese, works hard to foster an environment that is centered around "Family". It is one of the pillars that they have built their program around. Everyone involved in the program benefits greatly from that family atmosphere, and it shows in their interactions both on and off the court. The video to the right showcases the kind of bonding that is built at team events. Coach Frese and her staff believe that this tight bond enhances the team's ability to handle adversity and translates to success on the court, which is evidenced by Maryland's 221-81 (.732) record during Coach Frese's 10 years at Maryland. Today's FastDraw Play of the Day uses great spacing and multiple screens to free up scorers in the middle of the floor to either catch and score, or set up a teammate for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe play starts with a 2-3 high formation with all of the players above the free-throw line. 5 starts in the middle of the floor and cuts to the weak-side block as 1 passes to 4 who passes to 3. Once 3 has the ball, 4 screens for 1. 1 curls around to the block and looks to post up. 4 pops out to the top of the key. If 1 isn't open and 4 has the ball, 1 sets a back-screen for 3. If the back-screen isn't open, 3 sets a cross-screen for 5 and 4 sets a down-screen for 3. 1 looks to pass to 5 posting up or to 3 cutting up for a shot. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this SLOB from Coach David Arseneault Jr., the Big Horns start with an interchange of 4 and 3 to the blocks and 1 cutting up alone to the top of the key to get the ball. 1 then takes the ball to the opposite side of the floor sending 2 on a cross-screen at the free-throw line to the left wing and 3 to the right corner away from the action. If 2 isn't open, 1 gets a ball-screen from 4 who sprints to the ball-screen off of a down-screen from 5. The action at the top of the key opens up pick & roll as well as a duck-in for 5 inside. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis action comes from the Flex set. Ball is reversed to 5 on initial pass. 3 cuts at 4, then pushed him across the lane and takes down screen from 1. Ball thrown back to 3 on right side and 2 cuts off 4 for lay up. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis weekend I saw a high school team run this action and thought it was a great play to share. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOhio State ran this modified flex vs. VCU after setting it up with multiple possessions of their basic horns set. After using misdirection, the VCU defender is expecting a second misdirection screen but the 1 only uses one ball screen taking him to the wing. The help side defenders are also anticipating a guard attack or post dive to the paint. This action allows the ball handler and the cutter (flex) the entire side of the floor to work with. During this particular set the flex cut was covered and the ball was sent to the 2 coming off of a stagger screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play was used by the 76er's during the Orlando Summer League. This is a simple 2 action set that can be effective for any team from middle school to the NBA. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAfter Depaul hit the 3 to put them ahead over UIC the Flames had a chance to respond for the win. With the ball out of bounds underneath the Depaul basket, UIC took a timeout and diagramed a screen the screener play with 1.8 seconds on the clock. The play got UIC a wide open three from the ball side wing for the win. With such a short clock the Depaul defenders were caught between switching and trailing their own guys. The key to this entire action is the sharp jab step taken towards the rim, and then the screen for the man cutting right to the rim. That put Depaul’s defense in catch-up mode. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDoc Rivers ran this with the Boston Celtics during their Big Three era with Rajon Rondo at the point. Rivers would get the ball back into the hands of Rondo coming off a series of screens, and trying to get a three-man action with Rondo, Ray Allen and a big. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawA late game set ran by the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals to free up #34 Ray Allen. He gets a screen from the 4 man, and then runs off a flare from the 5 looking for his jumper. The Spurs took away the flare allowing the pass to go to #1 Chris Bosh. On his catch then #34 Ray Allen went back door for a lay-up. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a nice little ATO set that can be used in late game situations or when you need a basket. Starting in a 1-4 High alignment can allow for the defense to be vulerable to the back door cut. Nonetheless the ball screen actions will draw a lot of attention and allow for the three on the wing or the reversal and throw inside. See More
