For this play you want to make sure that your two man is your best shooter/scorer. When he cuts off of the flare screen it may be over played, he has to do a good job of setting his defender up with 4 rescreening for a pin down. Your 3 man has to be able to make decisions and reads with 2 cutting off of the flare, and then the pin down, and the 4 man diving hard to the rim after the pin down screen. This is a nice transiton set that I have seen on countless NBA, WNBA and Mens and Womens NCAA teams for a couple years now. There are many options out of it and have only included a few. There are ones that include back side staggers, two man games, double post ball screens etc... Marc Gasol is one of the truly underappreciated players in the league. He's a solid post-up player, a decent shooter, the best big man passer in the league (with his brother being a close second) and he may very well be the defensive player of the year in the NBA right now. Memphis' offense is a cramped, inconsistent and often times ineffective collaboration of players who shrink the floor in an era that thrives on spacing it. When things go well for the Grizzlies, it almost always has something to do with Marc Gasol making a play for his teammates. Gasol is deadly from the elbows, as that position on the floor gives him a perfect vantage point of the floor and allows him to distribute from a high-low perspective.
