Memphis Grizzlies - Shuffle Flare Rip DHO

This is one of the options that the Memphis Grizzlies run out of their "Shuffle" series. The play starts with the PG making the hit-ahead pass then cuts through to the opposite side of the floor. 5 then flashes to the strong side elbow to set a shuffle screen after the pass to the corner. If the initial cut off the shuffle screen isn't available for a score, 4 sets a flare for 2 on the weak side then 3 sets a rip screen for 4 (STS action). This is one of the many "Diamond" sets from Henrik Dettmann of the Finnish National Team. 2, a shooter, sets the back screen for 4. As x2 helps on the back screen, 5 dribbles out of the post into a handoff for 2. Because x2 bumps 4 on his cut, he is trailing behind 2 out of position to contest. See More

This is one of the many "Diamond" sets from Henrik Dettmann of the Finnish National Team. As 4 slips the ball screen, this creates an advantage for the offense as x5 has to help on the slip. As x5 helps, 5 sets a pindown for 3. Because x5 is helping on the slip from 4, the offense creates a 2-on-1 advantage on the weak side since there is no help on 3 as he comes off the screen. This is another Horns set that Croatia ran against Lithuania in the first window of the second round of the FIBA European Qualifiers. It's designed to get Saric a post up. After the elbow entry to 2, 1 and 3 set a double rip screen for 4. While this is happening, 5 sets a ball screen for 2 to occupy the defense. See More

Croatia - Horns Double Stagger/DHO Option

Croatia ran this Horns (call is "4") set against Lithuania in the first window of the second round of the FIBA European Qualifiers. Set starts off with a little misdirection with 5 screening for 4. Then 4 and 5 then set a stagger for 3. They then set another stagger along the baseline for 2 who comes off the screen looking for a shot. If 2 isn't open, 4 flashes to the elbow for a pass. Atlanta Hawks - Loop Oklahoma

Budenholzer ran this "Loop" set last year with the Atlanta Hawks to create an open 3 for a stretch big. The action starts off with a pin down into a loop cut across the elbow by the PG/1. As 1 completes cut, 5 immediately turns and sets a ball screen for 2. 5 then rolls into a pin down for 4 who comes off the screen looking for a shot. LA Lakers - ICE Defense 3-on-3 Drill

Continuity defensive drill from Luke Walton and the Los Angeles Lakers from their 2016 Training Camp. This drill works on side pick and roll defense where the defense looks to Ice/Blue/Push/Down, depending on your terminology. The on ball defender adjusts their stance to be on the top of hip of the ball handler. Goal is to prevent the ball handler from using the ball screen to get to the middle, keeping the ball on the sideline/baseline on the pass and follow action. The Philadelphia 76ers like to run this "logo" ball screen action for Ben Simmons to prevent defenses from going under. If Simmons is open on the UCLA cut, they'll look to hit for a quick layup. If the layup is not available, 5 will set a flare screen for 2, creating a post split action to prevent defense from digging. See More
