About Theresa Grentz
Theresa Shank Grentz is a member of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, who served as the US Olympic head coach in 1992. Over the course of thirty-three years, she worked as the head women’s basketball coach for the University of Illinois, Rutgers University, and St. Joseph’s University.
She got her start playing for the Immaculata Mighty Macs, and led the team to three AIAW National Championships between 1972 and 1974. These events were made into a movie, The Mighty Macs, which was released in 2011. Throughout her coaching career, she has shown a knack for motivational speaking, and has given over one thousand speeches to various groups—from kindergarten classes, to Fortune 500 companies.
