This “Elbow” Horns set has been a go-to play for the Phoenix Mercury throughout the 2021 WNBA Season. During the 2021 Finals, Mercury Head Coach Sandy Brondello has frequently gone to this Horns set with her Big Three - Skylar Diggins-Smith at the 1, Diana Taurasi at the 3, and Brittney Griner at the 5.
Taurasi has proved time and time again in “Elbow” action why she was recently voted by fans as the “GOAT” and greatest player of all-time in the WNBA, consistently knocking down the big-time three in clutch moments for the Mercury.
Horns set to start.
Option 1: DT runs off the flare screen by BG.
Option 2: STS (screen-the-screener) action, with DT setting a ball screen for Diggins-Smith into the flare.
