4 man slip into stagger
07/03/2013A set used to get a face up 4 a good shot off a stagger. 4 man must sell the ballscreen and then sprint thru the stagger. The play finishes with a double backscreen for the 5 man. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawI really loved this action used by the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat. They look for the quick curl for the 2 man, get a shuffle screen, then a stagger, then a ball screen. This play is packed with multiple actions for the defense to guard and puts a lot of pressure on the man defending the 5 man. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis set ran by the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals is packed with action. Utilizing the trailing post is the reverse man to swing the ball around the perimeter, they then run the strech 4 man off a flare screen while the 3 gets a shuffle screen from 5. This forces the back side to focus on their own man, the 5 man to protect the hoop on 3's shuffle. 5 then comes and ball screens the 1 man with the defense engaged else where. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is another late shot clock play that was run in Calipari's first year at Kentucky. This set is a good one to run if you have a point guard that can create off the dribble and a post that can dominate inside. Very quick and easy action. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a play that John Calipari ran in his first year at Kentucky. This was a great set for that team because of where it placed their extremely talented players. You had 5 (Cousins) in the post, 1 (John Wall) attacking off the ball screen, and 2 (Eric Bledsoe) coming off of the stagger. They would run this at the end of the shot clock to get a good look. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Indiana Pacers ran this set a few times in the ECF against the Miami Heat. They utilized mis-direction against an aggressive Heat defense to keep Miami on their toes. Following the UCLA screen and flex screen the 1 man then turns right back around to get the 3, letting #24 Paul George run off a stagger screen. This brought the 1 off a down screen and gave him the ball back in a better scoring area for him to create. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTook this from one of our conference opponents this past season. This play is best executed with a 5 that is a good passer. End result is a dunk or action for your best player coming off a ball screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is the opening tip play that Team USA ran against Team World in the 2013 Nike Hoop Summit which took place at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. This set is a simple set that will take minimal time to teach your players, and something that can steal you an easy two points to start the game and grab the momentum like Team USA did here. Favorite Send to FastDrawMemphis ran this play at the 5:21 mark of their game three loss to the Spurs. This layup by Randolph put Memphis up by 11. The Spurs made two consecuctive defensive errors on this play. First, Randolph was doubled in the post leaving Gasol wide open at the free throw line. After Pondexter ball faked to the free throw line both Spurs guarding Randolph ran to the free throw line. Z-Bo was left unguarded on the block for the layup. Regardless of the Spurs defensive lapses, this is a good set involving screening to get the ball into the post. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is the best stuff from the San Antonio Spurs in their 4-0 series sweep over the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference Finals. There are quite a few plays as I wanted to be able to give you the Spurs playbook of their most successful actions and offensive sets. To best enjoy and learn from these play diagrams I recommend that you watch the video which is linked below as all of the diagrams are listed in order with the video clips. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawI figured with so many people doing one set and one drawing, I wanted to offer something different. After reviewing all four games of the Western Conference Finals between the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs I looked at actions that were successful and one's that didn't have quite as much success. I started with the Memphis Grizzlies. The play diagrams below are drawn for multiple plays with the play name titled directly on top of the court frame. These play diagrams are in order with the video you can find here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hYblZmLbIM&feature=youtu.be This way you can view the video and look at the play diagrams while the video is running. I hope you enjoy looking at the Memphis Grizzlies WCF Playbook. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a zipper set that is run to get the ball in the hands of your best decision maker (1 in this play) and gives you plenty of scoring oppertunities. The spurs run a variation of this play with much success by putting Parker at the 1. Ginobli at the 2 (who can get a 3 on the extra pass from 3) and Danny Green at the 3. The skills of these players puts a lot of stress on the defense and makes this quick hitter hard to guard. See More
