Favorite Send to FastDrawConcorida University (NY) Women's Basketball used this zone set against Philly U on 1-5-16. The set really puts pressure on the middle of the zone and allows movement to come from the weak side where the defense really has to be aware of multiple cuts to the interior of the zone. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis drill comes from George Hardison, Head Coach WBB at UConn Avery Point (NJCAA) which I witnessed at their practice on Feb. 16th, 2016. NOTE** If you do not have mini-hurdles you can use small cones. Also, depending on how high you want your players to jump you can use varied heights (6"/8"/12"). See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis drill is just an extension of the Rim Finishes Drill I posted earlier today. This is a great series of moves that every player should add to their arsenal to work on to perfect. The ability to change direction and finish around the rim are key elements for players who want to play basketball at a high level. When I performed this drill I had each player make each finish 3 times before moving onto the next move. You can adjust this accordingly as you see fit. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is part of John Leonzo's Solo Summer Shooting Workout. I recommend making no fewer than 200 shots a day, 6 days a week. Be sure to remind your players that there is no magic in the drills, in the facility, or in the coach that is with them, the magic is in the work. Improvement has a knack for following consistent work ethic and persistence. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of the best ways to develop individual skill is to play 1v1 against players that are going to challenge you. That being said, rolling the ball out and playing mindless 1v1 is not the best option to achieve one's desired outcome. What I will advocate for in this article is to play multiple variations of 1v1 games in order to grow one's skill and challenge oneself in a unique way. For a PDF of all the games and drills shown in this article (as well as a bonus drill), please click here. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPlayers line up at whatever spot the coach decides. Each player has a ball. Players will pass the ball out to themselves, catch it and attack according to the teaching points shown. Favorite Send to FastDrawPlayer 1 will job in place behind the middle cone. The coach will toss the player a ball and then step into a pair of cones. The player catching must catch the ball and attack through the open set of cones to the rim. Change the finishes up as you see fit. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawI really loved this action used by the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat. They look for the quick curl for the 2 man, get a shuffle screen, then a stagger, then a ball screen. This play is packed with multiple actions for the defense to guard and puts a lot of pressure on the man defending the 5 man. See More
