Favorite Send to FastDrawA really good BLOB set that Shaka Smart used to run at VCU against a man-to-man defense. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles to the left wing pushing 3 across the floor to screen for 4 at the opposite elbow. 4 cuts to the low post looking for the entry pass from 1. 5 screens down for 3 who cuts to the top of the key for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this play, the point guard dribbles to the left wing as 4 moves from the corner to the perimeter to replace 1. As 1 is dribbling, 5 screens down for 3. 1 passes to 4 who looks to pass to 3 for a shot. If 3 isn't open, 4 dribbles towards the right wing and passes to 2. 3 dives to the low post and 5 elevates. 4 then screens down for 3 who cuts up for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAnother new set the Cavaliers have ran in the Chicago Bulls series has been a set that Doc Rivers ran with Rajon Rondo in Boston and now with Chris Paul in Los Angeles. With Tyronn Lue being an assistant and a main cog in the Cavs system this year, he added this set for Kyrie to get on the move and receive a dribble handoff and attack. The set starts with a pass to the wing and cuts through towards the rim. As Kyrie cuts through the ball is reversed to the top of the key and Kyrie cuts off a double screen from 2 & 4 into a dribble handoff from 5. Kyrie looks to attack initially and if he is stopped, 5 steps up and sets a spread ballscreen for 1. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDavid Blatt has been adding new sets almost every game this year with wrinkles off of them. A set that he has run all year with Kevin Love spacing was "Thumbs Down." This set had the bigs cross low and Love would space to the corner, while other big set a high ballscreen for the ballhandler. This series against the Bulls they have ran similar action, only with the shooting guard setting a downscreen for the 5 man and pops to the wing, the big man sets a high ballscreen, in this case, for Kyrie Irving to attack. Favorite Send to FastDrawDoc Rivers drew up a great end of game Sideline out of Bounds play for a lob for DeAndre Jordan. The play starts with Crawford coming off screen from DeAndre Jordan and then Redick setting a backscreen for Jordan to get open for a lob. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this play from Grinnell, the team spreads the floor with both posts screening for the wings in the corners. 1 looks to pass to 2 or 3 for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 passes to 5 flashing to the high post then screens down for 4 at the free-throw line. 4 makes a back-cut to the basket and 1 pops out to the top of the key. Once 1 has the ball, 5 sets a ball-screen for 1 as 3 sets a cross-screen for 4. 1 looks to drive left and score, pass to 5 on the roll, or pass to 4 in the corner for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAgainst a team that fronts the post or plays heavy denial on any post ups, this is a great counter to get a backscreen for a layup from the Memphis Grizzlies. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this box option, the post players start at the elbows and the wings on the blocks. 4 moves down to the block to set a staggered-screen for 2. 2 cuts to the left corner looking for a shot. If 2 isn't open, 1 looks to pass to 3 cutting off of a down-screen from 5. If 3 gets the ball with no shot, he looks to pass to 5 or 4 at the block or elbow. 5 sets the cross-screen for 4 in the lane with 4 choosing to either go under or over the screen. 5 flashes opposite of 4's cut. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this box set play from Creighton, the post players start on the left side of the lane and the wings start on the right side. 2 screens down for 3 who cuts to the right wing for a shot. After 2 sets the screen for 3, he sprints between a double-screen from 4 and 5 to the left wing. 4 and 5 close the screen once 2 has cleared to close off 2's defender from getting through. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAnother counter to a normal set that teams ran in the regular season is an empty set from the Washington Wizards. The Wizards normally run a post rub into a cross screen for the big man to get a post touch, but in the playoffs they ran a counter that had the guard who normally screens the big man, runs to the corner. The other big flashes to the elbow to empty the paint and allows the big to seal his man and have an entry for a layup. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTo open up game 2 against Milwaukee, the Bulls ran a nice Lob set to get an easy two points for Jimmy Butler. The set begins with Pau screening down for Butler who then sets a ballscreen on the wing. Because his man has to show/help/switch on the ballscreen this allows him to cut off the double backscreen easier for a lob. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBrad Stevens took an underrated and a Boston Celtic team that had mid season trades and were expecting to head for an early draft pick to the playoffs. He is one of the best basketball minds in the NBA, and he runs a nice set for Isaiah Thomas with multiple options off of it. It starts with a dribble handoff to the trailing big and the point guard cuts off backscreen from the opposite big man at the elbow. The first option is for the point guard to "V" cut back off at the elbow and look for a shot opportunity. If there is not shot available, 5 will step up and set a ballscreen, because of the dribble handoff 4 is already spacing the floor, so the Spread Pick & Roll doesn't need to be setup. The next option is for 1 to continue off backscreen and set a flex screen for the wing man and then receive a down screen from 4. See More
