With the opposite big popping to the TOK, the PG sets a shuffle cut and runs into a double stagger. On the pass to the TOK, the wing then runs baseline off a triple screen to the opposite side looking to make the defense chase. Last night the Cavaliers were taken to the limit against the Golden Bears of Cal. Tony Bennett designed three consecutive timeout plays each of which yielded a basket. This is the first of those timeout plays. Run from the SLOB situation, the play is set-up by the elbow screen action which gave Brogdon a chance to either "read" and cut to the basket or come back off the "re-screen" action for a possible jumper. Tony Bennett is known for his defensive strategies, but last night these timeout actions he ran with his Cavs only showed what a true mastermind of the game he is. See More

After EVERY down screen, the screener should open up to the ball for the post up. READ THE SCREEN Always look to read the down screen in our 4 MAN FLEX. This time the defender, X2 plays tight to the offensive player and the cutter CURLS TIGHT to the rim. The screener must change his angle for the screen. After EVERY down screen, the screener should open up to the ball for the post up. READ THE SCREEN Always look to read the down screen in our 4 MAN FLEX.
