Basketball Play - 1 v 1 Contact Finishing

1 v 1 Contact Finishing

Jordan Petersen 07/18/2017

Defender stands at the elbow facing the basket. Offense is on the baseline and dribbles out to the defender and goes around the defender. Once the offense turns the corner it is live. Offense is getting shoulder tip hip/chest and trying to cut off or veer defense to finish. ADD ON: Dribble decision making/change of direction move can be added. Defender can lift up right or left arm to signal what way the offense must go around. See More

Basketball Play - Pistol - 21 Offense Breakdown

Pistol - 21 Offense Breakdown

Dave Nedbalek 07/05/2017

The Pistol offense is one of my favorite offenses right now. With the different reads and options you can make out of the initial pass it is really hard to comfortable defending. Point of emphasis would be to really make sure your wings and point guard give themselves enough room to operate sideline side to not warrant and immediate trap (although I have found that is one of the better ways to defend the initial action, so plan accordingly, tweet me @DaveNedbalekUTT and we can discuss) Please share any wrinkles counters you see, or have run. I will include some decoy entries in a later post, as well as a video breakdown. Teams running this right now: -LA Clippers -Golden State Warriors -Houston Rockets See More

Basketball Play - SLOB Give Weave

SLOB Give Weave

Evan Orzolek 06/01/2017

SLOB set ran by the U20 Serbian team in the Eurobasket Championships in 2015. Timing of the down screen set by 4 should be practiced for timing purposes. 4 should set down screen for 2 once 1 starts the cut up to 5 to receive the stationary DHO in the slot. The false action in this set creates a solid opportunity out of the spread pick and roll. The ball coverage of the ball screen (x2) will be weak and late due to the down screen set by 4 and also with the DHO by 1. As a result, this will put extra pressure on the defending big involved on the ball screen (x5) and should create an advantage out of the spread pick and roll. See More

Basketball Play - LA Clippers - Stagger Pistol

LA Clippers - Stagger Pistol

Doug Brotherton 05/29/2017

This is my favorite BLOB of the 2017 NBA season. It begins with a double stagger, to get a catch. After the catch, the Clippers throw to 5, to initiate a "Pistol" action. The 5 does a dribble hand-off, followed by a down screen, and run to the rim. The 1 can turn the corner, throw back to the shooter behind the drive, or look for the 5 on the lob. See More
