Favorite Send to FastDrawA great way to get a drop-down isolation post out of a Horns set. Lots of clutter on the initial ball side opens the opposite side for a great post-up. Good play from Quin Snyder. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a good play to make defenders chase. Before cutting off of the cross-screen from 1, 5 acts as if he is screening for 2 in the corner as a misdirection. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 passes to 4 at the high post. 1 and 5 then set a staggered screen for 2 in the corner. 4 follows behind the screen and gives the ball to 2 on a dribble hand-off. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawUCLA started the game off against Arizona State trying to get Isaac Hamilton (18.2 ppg) their leading scorer a touch early. Starting out wide and receiving a wide screen from Welsh, Hamilton works into a dribble flip action and immediately receives a ball screen as the defense tried to fight over the screen, Hamilton got in the lane to score on the floater. Favorite Send to FastDraw5 pops 1 passes to 5 4 pops 5 passes to 4 2 spaces opposite 3 sets flex screen for 1 5 sets down screen for 3 4 dribble hand off with 3 See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDallas runs a great set for some of their stretch 4's and Chandler Parsons when they go small out of flip action. Flip action is the action in which a player receives the pass and then flips it right back to the player who passes it to him. After this initial action, the player who flipped it back receives a backscreen to the rim which is just decoy action. The big who sets the backscreen then receives the pass and hands it off to a guard on the wing cutting. The big then screens down for the stretch 4 who is under the rim to receive an open look coming off the baseline down screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Celtics run this set to get Isaiah Thomas a shot going to his left hand. Isaiah Thomas brings the ball up and passes to 2 who zipper cuts lane line extended, then receives the pass and hits the elbow man opposite him. He then cuts over top as the opposite big screens away for Isaiah Thomas going to his left (helpful because he is left handed), and the big with the ball hands off to Isaiah Thomas for a quick shot. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe only reason this isn't my number one set is because it is not as effective as the number one set, and it is not run as often. This is a great variation off of the "Fist Up Short" set the Phoenix Suns and Steve Nash ran against teams that hard hedge. Instead of looking for the big on the roll, the "Short" man receives the pass and then hands it off to a guard. The best part is the guards are going to their strong hand attacking the rim, Isaiah Thomas to his left & Marcus Smart to his right. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis was another great set to get an open three pointer. Having Marcus Smart pass to the elbow and do a fake handoff with Amir Johnson distracted the defense from the off ball screen Isaiah Thomas was being run through. This allowed Amir Johnson to make an easy decision by hitting Thomas for the open three. This would be a great set to run before ending a quarter or half. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLouisville used this play against Duke in the first half on Big Monday. 1 gives the ball to 2 on a dribble hand-off. 2 then dribbles middle as 3 cuts off of a screen from 4 and 5 to the opposite wing. 1 cuts off of a down-screen for a shot on the wing. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCoach Turgeon of Maryland has a lot of different weapons this season and this is a nicely designed play to give a "stretch" 4 a chance to pick & pop behind the arc for a 3pt shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGreat play to run if you have a PG that can score and the oppontnent doesn't like to switch 1 to 4. Great counter to 4 flat - flex action (Kansas runs flex a lot out of BLOB). See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a post entry and a designed hand off back to Butler from Gasol in the post for a shot or drive to the rim. The reason I beleive this is a professional set is because of the spacing the pros can play in and the skill to be able to hand off back to the player for a score. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMy good friend Zak Boisvert made a great Pitch Series video of Hoiberg's pitch action. This is an option off this series in which the opposite corner empties out and cuts ballside, and Butler receives a backscreen for a lob. We saw this action at Iowa State and it has continued into the NBA with the Bulls as well. See More
