Basketball Play - Post 5

Post 5

Dana Beszczynski 09/04/2013

The Louisville Cardinals did a good job using the screen-the-screener action initially to get their 1 man free for the inbounds pass. 3 times his screen perfectly as 1 dribbles down the wing to hit 5 flashing to the ball off 3's screen. The Cardinals do a good job opening the lane as 4 clears above the 3 pt line after setting the screen to free 1 for the inbounds pass. See More

Basketball Play - Double

Double

Alan Peel 09/03/2013

Double is a variation of Comeback. Instead of going back to the ball-side corner, this play will involve an elevator screen to get a three-point shot for #3. For more, check out my website www.coachpeelbasketball.com, sign up for a membership, and get your first 30 days free. See More

Basketball Play - Twist

Twist

Alan Peel 08/25/2013

"Twist" is a counter to "Oakland" that was presented earlier. This play, like "Oakland", was one we ran while I was coaching at Turner High School in Kansas City, KS. The only difference was that we had #1 throw the ball inbounds instead of #3 as the diagram shows. Basketball Play - Oakland

Oakland

Alan Peel 08/24/2013

"Oakland" is a baseline inbounds play that we ran when I was coaching at Turner High School in Kansas City, KS. The only difference is that we ran the play with #1 as the inbounds passer instead of #3. Basketball Play - Box Back

Box Back

Kyle Gilreath 08/21/2013

Gregg Marshall's Wichita State team ran this baseline out of bounds play versus Louisville in the 2013 Final Four. This play has multiple screening actions that make it nearly impossible to cover every option. To see EVERY play Wichita State ran in the 2013 Final Four you can do so in my eBook Championship Execution! See More

Basketball Play - Base 1, Base 2, Base 3

Base 1, Base 2, Base 3

Randall Edens 08/19/2013

This is my 3rd set of BLOB plays...this time a Baseline Series. We like to go with 1 specific set up unique to each season and to disguise a handful of sets in the same set up. So far I have shared a "Shapes" Series and a "Letter's" Series. Hopefully these with small adaptations to your personnel and use vs. Man or Zone can help win the "Special Situations" portion of each game for you. See More

Basketball Play - Block Curls

Block Curls

Adam Spinella 07/27/2013

Jerry Sloan used to use this play in a BLOB situation to free up his shooters and create confusion amongst the defense. Because of the odd formation and amount of bodies in the paint as a result, Utah would get a free look from the periemter or catch a defender out of position in the paint trying to compensate for their team's poor defensive strategy. Basketball Play - 98 Bulls Low

98 Bulls Low

Adam Spinella 07/15/2013

The 1998 Chicago Bulls ran this Baseline Out of Bounds play, particularly in the 1998 Playoffs against the Charlotte Hornets. The design was to get Pippen the ball on the block with shooters in Jordan and Kerr around him in the Triangle. Pippen is the first screener, then gets a screen set for him by Rodman in a "screen the screener" action. See More

Basketball Play - L, O, I

L, O, I

Randall Edens 07/15/2013

Today's Entry is a Baseline Out of Bounds series of plays using 'Letter's' to not only communicate the play, but help with set up as well. Furthermore, we incorporate sign language here to disguise but to also teach our players a life long skill that is effective for play thieves who watch a lot of film. Plus, we have found it helps with our players focus in these situations believe or not so ENJOY. Frame 1 + 2 = " L " , Frame 3 + 4 = " O ", and Frame 5 + 6 = " I " I released a Stack series a few days ago... more BLOB's to come. Follow me @CoachEdens if you have any questions and I will be glad to help. See More

Basketball Play - Stack 1, Stack 2 and Stack 3

Stack 1, Stack 2 and Stack 3

Randall Edens 07/09/2013

Today's Focus: Baseline Out of Bounds Sets that help with Set Up on the floor, communicating with hand signals the 'Call' itself and being effective at the same time with the design. Simple? Yes...but effective when done correctly. Typically, we will go with a different core of 3-5, similar set up, each season. We have specials too, but these here will be our staples pending the season. These are typical sets we run over the summer too as they are EASY to remember. Frame 1 + 2 = Stack 1, Frame 3 + 4 = Stack 2 and Frame 5 + 6 = Stack 3 Soon... a BOX Series, a Shapes Series and a Letter Series of BLOB plays from me. Any questions, please follow me @CoachEdens and shoot me a message and I'd be glad to help. See More
