Baseline Single or Down Screen
10/09/2012For a catch and shoot player it is all about catching the ball in enough space to get his shot off. This play is good because it gives the shooter the option to come off the down screen or baseline screen. Giving the shooter options makes it a lot harder on the defender as well. Shooter needs to set his man up and not be predictable on his cut. Don’t let the defender dictate which screen you go off. Big men must head hunt and help the shooter get open by setting a good screen. This play is from the 2005-2006 Duke season. See More

It is up to the shooter to determine what side is best for him to come out on for the shot. The shooter can also drive an over close out or shot fake and pull up. Backdoor Set Against Pressure Defenses

The 4 man must be able to get open at the elbow and deliever a good pass to the back-cutting 2 man once he catches. BLOB - Baseline Double Screen
10/07/2012Screeners need to head hunt and hit the shooters defender with a good screen. If the shooters defender goes over the screen the shooter should fade to the corner and if the defender chases on the screen the shooter should curl or straight cut. This inbound’s play is good because it gets right into an offensive set. Every inbound play should be a chance to score or directly into an offensive set. This play is from the 2005-2006 Duke season.
