Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. This play is best for teams with a passing big. With this play spacing is crucial. If you drill your point guard on selling the pin down and slipping properly you will get easy lay ups out of this set. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat ran this action versus the Pelicans Wednesday night to get Chris Anderson an easy dunk at the rim. As 1 was screening for 3, the defense became very oppupied with defending Wade (not seeing the ball). Furthermore, X2 and X5 did not communicate and both ended up on 2, leaving 5 wide open rolling to the rim with no helpside. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawStan Van Gundy play he ran 10 times a year. A side ball screen for the point guard followed by a flare screen for the PG. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawJohn Calipari's Kentucky Wildcats ran this motion action during the 2013 Final Four. This is a great set that creates movement and ends with a side pick & roll after a quick pin-down. If 2 can turn the corner and beat X4 there is limited help to the rim; the only option being X5 which could lead to an easy pass to 5 if X3 fails to rotate down as well. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. This play is best ran for a point guard who can shoot it, or for the purpose of the play have a player that can shoot it start the play. The key to this play is your point guard setting two great screens to force his defender to help which will get him open on the down screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. This play is best ran for a shooter that is also a good athlete. You will need to drill in practice having your players read the defense to determine if they should come off the pin down or go backdoor. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWhile the head coach of the New Jersey Nets, Lawrence Frank ran this sideline out of bounds play at the end of a game in a Need 3 situation. Most of us are aware of the box screen the screener (stagger) that is referred to as America's play because everyone in American runs it. Well this action is a small tweak to the play in the event the defense tries to switch the 2-3 screen, this forces X2 and X3 to trail in both situations. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBasic 1-4 low entry with a speed cut to the top made by #4 to the help-side slot. This entry can result in entering into a four-around-one offense (i.e. flex or four-around-one motion). Favorite Send to FastDrawCoach Pearl used this play when defenses tried to take away the lob. They key here is to he the screener. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFriday night in between watching ESPNU Midnight Madness and the UCF-Louisville football game, I flipped over to the Chicago Bulls game. Tom Thibodeau runs some great offensive sets and Friday night he allowed me to add one more play to my library. The Bulls ran this play with pure perfection and timing. 1 also has the option to throwback to 3 coming off the screen from 5. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. This play is best ran for your best scorer. This play will give you an isolation opportunity on the opposite side of the floor See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawNate McMillan ran this sideline out of bounds play while with the Portland Trailblazers. 2 has the option depending on which way X2 plays him, he has the option to go off either the screen from 1 or 4. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. This play is best for teams with a passing big. This is a play with multiple quick hitting options on both sides of the floor. To execute this play you will have to drill your players on proper cuts and how to read the defense off of screens. Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of the worst feelings as a coach is watching your team get pressed and turn the ball over. Conversely, when your press is wreaking havoc and you're getting easy buckets off your defense it's a GREAT feeling. If your team is not super athletic and you're playing an athletic team that employs an aggressive full court defense this is a great drill to prepare you for the tempo and speed of your opponent.
