Favorite Send to FastDrawThis Butler University set is from the 2010-2011 season, which was frequently ran for Zach Hahn (2) and Matt Howard (4). See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a play used last season by the Washington Wizards under coach Randy Wittman. The Wizards would try to get an open three pointer for Bradley Beal or Martell Webster, who they start in the corner out of a Horns formation. You'll see the defense pay a lot of attention to John Wall on this play as well; it's one of the few occasions he's been utilized as a screener and this is a good example of how it can be effective for the best player on a team to be the screener - it sets up openings for others. Favorite Send to FastDrawZipper screen to a ball screen from the sideline. Simple play that allows your players to make reads. 4 and 5 can roll and replace. 1 can finish at the rim. Hit 5 on the roll. 4 on the replace for a shot or hi-low with 5. If any weakside help pulls in, 1 can pass out for an open perimeter jump shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCounter to Loop 2, sets up a middle ball screen. If 1 can't pass to 2 on the wing, 2 drifts to the corner and 5 ball screens 1. After 1 throws back to 5 on the pick and pop, 5 can shoot, dribble hand off with 2, pass to 2 and follow for the corner pick and roll, or drive at 2's defender to draw the help and kick out for an open 3. Coaches can pass to make this a 5-0 offensive drill in addition to a game spot shooting drill. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDive Double Spin is a very precise and complex way to get a backdoor opportunity. While it may be just a bit too complex to run at a high school level, its level of success at the collegiate level was astounding. At the University of Indiana, Kelvin Sampson used this play to get his best finishers an opportunity at the rim without challenge. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPre-practice/warmup drill to get your players moving and active. Teaching them to be aggressive and attack the ball in the open court. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFloppy set that leads to a backdoor cut. Time it up so as 5 steps to the elbow 4 is pinning for 3 so the help side defense is occupied allowing 5 to hit 2 with the backdoor pass. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play was ran by the USA U19 Women's team in the finals vs. France. This set uses a UCLA screen to set up a floppy which turns into a staggered screen for the point guard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTeams with post players that need to get their touches have to be creative about how they get the ball into the post. In Post Fist, the action starts on one side, completely clears the area, and then allows the post player to enter the recently vacated space and post up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThese are effective defensive drills to be used in pre-practice or as warmup drills. Got the idea from the New Orleans Saints a couple of years ago. They tried to replicate situations that would occur with their defense. Situations would be worked on at the beginning of practice to get the team in the mindset of thinking defense. You can use different aspects of your defense or schemes to you need to work on for an upcoming opponent. Take a 10 minute segment to start practice each day or a couple days a week and you will notice improved intensity on the defensive end of the floor. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPlay run by the French U19 women's team in the championship game vs. the United States. The game was competitive in the first half. This play has an Iverson cut, rip screen, and is tied up with a screen the screener. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is adapted from a play Gregg Marshall runs at Wichita State. This action will get your 4 a couple different opportunities to catch in the paint. It's important to emphasize the reverse pivot from the post player (4) to seal his defender under the rim. Timing is critical to avoid a 3-second violation. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis set was ran by the LA Lakers Summer League Team. There are a lot of different options from this play and it is really important for your point guard to make the right decision. I really like how this play opens up the floor on the ball side, but keeps the defenders busy on the weak side. The 1st option is a dibble handoff between the 5 and 3 The 2nd option is a kickout to the 1 and then a Pick & Roll with the 5 to open up three different looks See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawRhody Fist Flare is a play designed for a post up that also has an option for a three pointer off a flare screen. If your team runs a 3-out 2-in offense this can be an interesting set to include for a post isolation with good off-ball movement. See More
