Basketball Play - Horns Set Play: "Circle"

Horns Set Play: "Circle"

Matt Hackenberg 12/12/2021

This is a set play out of a horns alignment we use with multiple options. First, we use the alignment to let a playmaker attack and read the defense with the horns ball screen, roll/pop action. We want to play off the ball handler, and if we can't create a shot off the initial attack, look to play 4 around 1 with our big to get it inside. Then we look at a couple simple set options that play off of the base action. Video clip below. Basketball Play - Euro Ball Screen Offense ("Wave")

Euro Ball Screen Offense ("Wave")

Matt Hackenberg 12/09/2021

In 2014, the team I was coaching lost in the Ohio High School State Finals to a GREAT defensive team. We ran our entire offensive package (dribble drive, sets, high ball screens, etc.) at them and could not get any good looks. The feeling from that game led me on a search to find a great continuity offense that included screening, ball reversals and the option to use it for interior shots or perimeter shots. The search culminated in finding the 5-Out Euro Ball Screen Offense from watching the Olympics. We took the basics of the offense, added some bells and whistles, and made it something that could accomplish all we were looking for in an offense. We incorporated sets out of the flow of the offense, motion numbered cutting principles and various entries to spice things up. We put all that information into 45 extremely detailed pages of a PDF file on this offense and all the teaching points involved in making it your offense. To purchase the PDF, click here: https://sellfy.com/p/8JOh/ Aquinas' main man-to-man offense from the 2014-15 season was continuity ball screen attack we called "Wave." It was our first year running it as our main offense but used it as a set play the previous season. We were able to use a lot of different features within the offense to attack our opponents and many of those features are outlined in this video. Depending on the strengths of the players, the offense can be more tailored for the perimeter or the interior. We used multiple entries including several not shown on the video and numbered cut system so the players could communicate which screens and cuts they were about to make. Basketball Play - Push Zip Iverson Series

Push Zip Iverson Series

Matt Hackenberg 12/07/2021

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a series of plays that all play off of each other. The series uses the same movement pattern to make it difficult for the defense to understand what is going to happen through scouting. Some of the these actions are pretty clever! Basketball Play - 32 "Strong" (Twin Post Continuity)

32 "Strong" (Twin Post Continuity)

Matt Hackenberg 12/01/2021

In this diagram we look at a continuity offense to get the ball inside. The set features multiple options to feed a single post player. The action can be ran to feature two bigs at the same time if you have the luxury of multiple interior threats. When we ran this offense, we had two bigs that could both play inside and feed each other on the high/low. All the options of the offense are explored in the embedded video. Basketball Play - Swing - Meet Up - Reject

Swing - Meet Up - Reject

Randy Sherman 06/09/2021

An excerpt from our new Five-Out Package Playbook In this sequence, the opening is the SWING to Player 5. The passer then gets into a MEET UP with Player 2. Player 5 takes the ball to the action with the dribble. In this diagram, Player 2 REJECTS the MEET UP and the action flows into either a pass-and-follow DRAG ball screen or a FLIP (dribble handoff). From there the offense is into EURO. Frames 5 and 6 show how we can SWING and get into a MEET UP on the second side. See More

Basketball Play - UConn Huskies WBB - Cutters

UConn Huskies WBB - Cutters

Andrew Lacey 03/22/2021

As I was watching the WBB NCAA Tourney, the UConn women started the game with a lot of offensive movement and cutters. This action is especially effective because it puts pressure on the rim through cutters and still allows for an outside shot opportunity. FastModel's biggest offer of the year for new subscribers! Basketball Play - Tennessee Volunteers - DHO Stagger

Tennessee Volunteers - DHO Stagger

Matt Wheeler 03/20/2021

Early in their NCAA tournament game against Oregon State, the Tennessee Volunteers used this early offense set to get the ball back to their point guard for a 3 point shot off a stagger screen. The ball reversal and dribble handoff provides some misdirection to help set up 1 for the shot on the weakside of the floor. FastModel's biggest offer of the year for new subscribers! Basketball Play - Virginia Tech Hokies - Back Screen DHO

Virginia Tech Hokies - Back Screen DHO

Rory Hamilton 03/19/2021

This is a play Va Tech used in the first half of their game vs. Florida. The play uses a back screen by a shooting guard on a post player at the top of the key forcing the guard's defender to help on the lob and then have to fight through a DHO to get back to a shooter. A great play design by coach Mike Young. FastModel's biggest offer of the year for new subscribers! Use code at checkout: MARCHMADNESS See More
