Favorite Send to FastDrawSet from Donnie Tyndall that he ran at the end of the 1st half vs. Vanderbilt on 2/26/15. Multiple actions that turn into an isolation set or a two man game. Great way to get the ball to your best player in space if he/she is not your point guard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere are two isolation options for when you need 2 points at the end of a game or if you have a dominant player that you want to get into isolation. These plays come from Coastal Carolina head coach Cliff Ellis. Ellis has won over 600 games in his career and has been at several programs in the southeast. This year, his Chanticleers are 24-9 and will face up against #1 seed Wisconsin in Omaha on Friday. In the first option, Ellis gets his 2-guard open with a down screen and a dribble across the floor by his point guard. The goal is to get his guard the ball around the free-throw line or elbow. Once 2 has the ball, he faces up and lets 5 clear out to the corner. 2 looks to drive to the basket. In the second option, Ellis gets his 4 man the ball with a simple down screen out of the horns set. The point guard dribbles over towards the right wing and passes to 4. Once 4 has the ball around the top of the key, 5 clears out and lets 4 take his man 1 on 1 to the basket. This play works well if you have a slower defender on either player. In addition, if the other defenders help on the penetration, you will have a good luck at a kick-out for a 3-point shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a play from the Houston Rockets that they use to get an open look in the post or short corner. The play starts with players 1-3 on the perimeter and 4 at the top of the key. 4 moves towards 1 to set a ball-screen. The purpose of the ball-screen in this play is to force 5's defender (X5) into help position on penetration. Once the point guard reads that X5 is helping over, he can pitch the ball out to 2 on the wing and 2 looks inside to 5 posting up. Once 5 has the ball, he has a choice to take his man middle or drive baseline. With either option, the rest of the players on the floor know exactly where to cut depending on which direction 5 drives. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDuke used this play against Gonzaga to open the game and get the ball inside to Okafor. Once Okafor got the ball, two Zags double-teamed leaving Winslow wide open on the wing for a 3-point shot. The play starts with Tyus Jones giving a "thumbs down" signal and a down-screen set for 4 in the corner. 4 curls the screen and sets a cross-screen for Okafor. On the screen, Okafor is open on the block for a pass inside. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this play, the Thunder get into a flex action by reversing the ball from 1 to 3 on the left wing. 4 screens for 2, but instead of 5 screening down he moves to the opposite elbow. 3 looks to pass inside to 2 posting up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles to the left wing as 2 curls around 5 to the opposite corner. After 2 clears, 1 looks to pass inside to 5 posting up. 2 must make his cut hard to force 5's defender to help leaving 5 open in the post. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw4 sets a high ball-screen for 1. As 1 dribbles to the right wing, 4 and 5 set a staggered-screen for 2. With all of the right side open, 1 has space to create a shot or take his man to the basket. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles right as 2 sets a screen for 3 in the lane. 3 cuts to the wing, then 2 sets a back-screen for 5. If 5 isn't open he cuts to the corner and 2 cuts to the top of the key. 1 dribbles left and passes to 2. Once 2 has the ball, he has the middle of the floor to work and get to the rim. 1, 3, 5, and 4 all space out on the perimeter for a kick out pass. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw4 and 5 set a staggered ball-screen for 1. 1 drives middle as 5 rolls and 4 (Davis) pops. 1 passes to 4 on the pop. 4 has the left side of the floor to take his man to the basket or create a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFGCU looked like they were going to be in a horns set, but instead sent 4 out to the corner and had 3 run the baseline. As 3 was running opposite (pulling his defender away), 5 set a flat ball-screen for 1 to drive to the rim. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSam Houston ran this play when the game was tied against Nicholls State in the Southland tournament. Coach Hooten wanted to get a post up and used a zipper action to get his 4 man open in the post. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWVU used this play late in the game against Oklahoma to get an iso drive to the rim. The shot was blocked by Spangler, but it was a good play to get your post player isolated on the wing. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a zone set used by Oregon in the Pac-12 Tournament. Although it may be looking ahead too far, but Oregon may have to play Duke or Baylor's zone the second weekend. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCoach Kruger has been calling this play more and more lately. It's a smart move, as again it forces the defense to pay attention to Buddy. Having Buddy set the ball-screen is a good strategy, as most teams will not hard hedge in this situation. On the pop, Buddy can go to work at the top of the key. See More
