Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a creative Horns Set that the Spanish team Valencia used in the Euroleague this year. They have 2 guard at the elbow with 5. 2 sets ballscreen for 1 and then dives to the rim, 5 steps up to receive pass. 5 hand offs to 3 and on the hand off 4 sprints out of the corner to set a ballscreen, causing a bad hedge. Favorite Send to FastDrawMarch 5, 2015 - Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau drew up this marvelous sideline out-of-bounds play to give Chicago the go head basket and eventually defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder. Having a dominate and skilled (passing) big in the post helps, being only down 1 Gasol had the option for a quick turn and score but trusted his teammate E'Twaun Moore for the shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawStart in a 1-2-2 alignment with your bigs on the blocks. 1 will dribble the basketball away from the side he wants to enter the ball. (ex. Go away from your best shooter). As one is coming back to the shooter's side; 4/5 will set a double screen (elevator screen) for the shooter (2 in this case). 2 will sprint around the screen and back to the ball side corner looking for the shot. 3 will slide to the weak-side corner. If 2 is not open for the pass/shot. 5 (or the post thats at the top of the double screen) will set a screen for the 4 (or post at the bottom of the double screen). 4 then curls tight off the screen looking for a pass from 1. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe point guard dribbles to the left wing pushing 3 in towards the elbow. 3 fakes cutting around 5 and instead pops out to the lane-line extended. 1 passes to 3 then cuts off of a triple staggered screen from 5, 4, and 2. 3 dribbles over to pass to 1 for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAs many high school teams are deep into their state tournaments and as college teams prepare for their conference tournaments (and for some lucky teams the NCAA tournament as well), it is vital to be practicing “time and score” situations daily. If you and your team have been working on these scenarios throughout the year, you are in great position to execute them properly down the stretch. Here we have the situation where we must miss a FT and get an offensive rebound. This is something that must be practiced and can't just be drawn up in a huddle. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWVU quick hitter used late in the 1st half against Buffalo. WVU was 3/9 from 3 in the first half and used this set to assert themselves in the paint. This quick hitter uses a guard cross followed by a dive and back screen. Buffalo eventually went to 2-3 zone in the first half to counter the offensive attack of the Mountaineers. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this BLOB Play, 1 starts with the ball out of bounds and 4 screens for 2 at the opposite elbow. 5 dives down to the low post looking for a quick pass if the defense isn't ready. If 5 isn't open, he steps towards the middle of the lane looking to get in x4's way. 4 rubs off of the screen from 5 and looks for the pass at the block. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSan Antonio Spurs ran this elevator play to free up Danny Green during the start of Game 4 between the LA Clippers. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a 1-4 high zipper ball-screen play from Kentucky. The play begins with a dribble entry to the right wing pushing the ball-side guard down to the block to make a zipper cut off of 4. Once 2 has the ball, 5 sets a ball-screen. 2 attacks from right to left as 5 rolls to the basket and 4 replaces 5. 2 also has the option to pass to 3 in the corner if 3's defender helps on dribble penetration. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a quick screen-the-screen action designed to get you best shooter (2) an open shot on the perimeter. The 5 will UCLA screen for the 4; the 4 needs to read the screen; could have an opportunity to tight curl and get all the way to the rim. If 4 isn't open, he needs to space to the 3-point line and the 2 diagonal screens for 5 to the weak side of the rim, while the 4 finishes with a downscreen for the 2. The early UCLA screen by the 5 man to get the 4 man open, can be a mis-direction screen because you are trying to get a shot for your 2 man. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGreat play to bring misdirection into a early reversal and action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGreat set from Michigan State with multiple isolation opportunities. 3 in the pinch post, 4 in short corner, 5 deep seal. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a great set to either just get the ball in or also have several options to score. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a last second play that can also be used at the end of quarters in high school. One of our opponents ran this BLOB to perfection against us a couple seasons ago. We did not defend the action very well and gave up the open shot in the corner to lose by one point. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCoach of the Year Mike Budenholzer is one of the best, if not the best, coach in after timeout and special situations to get players great shot opportunities. To start game 5 against the Brooklyn Nets he gets alot of movement before getting Kyle Korver an open look from 3. They run the normal "Zipper" cut into a double screen to get some action before the initial set. Their big pops to the wing, and Budenholzer has Korver set a UCLA screen before coming off a flare screen for an open look from 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDayton vs. Boise State 3/18/15 Shortly after the first media timeout, Dayton ran this screen the screener set vs. Boise State. (14:20 mark of the first half). The play got Darrell Davis a wide open look because he set a great screen for the 4 diving to the block and his defense stayed to help. This set should work with most personnel. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThroughout the season and the tournament Notre Dame Fighting Irish ran this set as an entry into their motion offense (blocker mover). Very effective in creating player movement, ultimately looking to stretch the floor with their shooting ability and create closeout situations. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDuke ran this play to free up Winslow going to the rim and once the ball is reversed it turns into a post iso for him. Okafor screws the play up by not moving to the weak side block, but Duke ends up getting a basket on a post move from Winslow. If Okafor would have slid over to the opposite block and ducked his man in, Winslow would have had a lob dunk after the back screen from the point guard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe play starts with 1 dribbling up the right side of the floor. 4 moves up from the block to set a screen for 2. If 2 isn't open, 4 steps out to set a ball-screen for 1. 4 pops for a shot. If 4 gets the ball, 2 screens across the lane for 5. 4 passes to 5 for a lay-up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles to the right wing giving to the ball on a dribble hand-off. 4 follows the play and sets a screen just as 2 is getting the ball. 2 takes the hand-off looking to drive middle. He can either shoot, pass to 5 ducking in, or pass to 4 on the perimeter. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawUNC Secondary B3 option: The trailer has the option to downscreen for the weakside wing if denied. That action triggers the B3 option. It is a read not a call. Players must recognize that 4 has downscreened for 3 and react accordingly. 3 can curl, back cut, straight cut or out cut the downscreen depending on how they are defended. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAlthough Manhattan is already out, head coach Steve Masiello had the Jaspers running some quality actions. In these 1-4 High Options, both plays start with the same guard loop action. If your team has good stretch forwards, these plays will get your 4 and 5 the ball at the elbow or perimeter in position to shoot or pass to the open shooter. Option 1: If the back-screen isn't open (3 cutting off of a screen from 4), 5 passes to 1 on the wing. 3 then cuts through the elevator screen from 4 and 5 for a shot. Option 2: In the second option, 5 passes to 4 instead of 1 flaring to the wing. Once 4 has the ball, the Jaspers run a flex action with 3 screening for 2 and 5 screening down for 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere are two plays from Wofford Terriers head coach Mike Young. The Terriers are back in the NCAA Tournament for the 2nd straight year and for the 4th time in the past 6 seasons. In these plays, the Terriers use the point guard to set a down screen for 5. 5 makes the zipper cut up the lane line looking for the ball at the elbow or slightly extended. The small on big down screen makes it hard for the defense to defend the zipper cut into the hand-off actions. If the defense switches, the post defender is now guarding a smaller player on a hand-off (when he is used to guarding the post player). Zipper Post #1: In the first option, 2 passes to 5 at the elbow and 1 loops around 5 looking for a hand-off. If 1 cannot turn the corner, he has 4 coming off of a down screen on the weak side or 2 slipping to the basket. Zipper Post #2:In the second option, it starts just like the first play with 1 setting the screen for 5 and 5 cutting up to get the ball at the elbow. Instead of 1 cutting around 5 for hand-off. This time 3 moves in from the wing to loop around 5. Once 3 has the ball, he has the same scoring and passing options as 1 did in the first play. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawEven when the Rockets weren't punishing the Mavericks in round one with the Josh Smith-Dwight Howard pick and roll combination, they still found ways to take advantage of the defense and connect for lobs. This is a simple 1-4 high pick, with a throwback to Smith. He immediately goes into Side P/R action with James Harden, or DHO in this case. This is hard work for x4, Dirk, who shows hard on the DHO. Note the 1 and 3 switching spots on the weakside, which makes x1, JJ Barea, the low defender. As Harden hits Smith on the roll, x5 must pull over to stop the drive. JJ Barea is sitting on Howard's top leg like he is supposed to be, but that hardly matters. This is an easy Smith to Howard lob. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLate in Overtime of a thrilling Game 2, the Spurs ran a great backdoor play to get Kawhi a layup and essentially seal the victory. The Spurs run alot of Zipper action and this was setup by Kawhi baiting his man on the high side trying to prevent the pass up top, allowing him to cut backdoor. Notice on the weakside Duncan sets a weakside screen for Green (their common "Hammer" action) keeping the defense occupied and allowing for a shot if the defense overhelps. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMichigan State utilizes this set to free up shooters and create dribble penetration opportunities for guards. If the guards decide they want to throw ball into the post from the wing, but cannot, the weak side big flashes to the high post looking for the high low. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSimilar to a set play we saw from SMU in the round of 64, North Carolina ran this look against Wisconsin in the Sweet 16. The first look is for the 5 man over the top for a lob. If the lob isn't there, 5 seals for a post up. A weakside stagger occupies any help for the post defender. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWVU used this set to start their Round 2 game against Buffalo. The Mountaineers came out and jumped to a 3-0 lead using this quick hitter. Huggins is known for his 5 out motion offense but the use of this quick hitter caught the Bulls help side defenders in poor positioning. The cross followed by flare screen gave WVU and early, wide open 3. See More
