Basketball Play - Spurs Misdirection

Spurs Misdirection

Kevin Bruinsma 07/04/2013

A very similiar set to what the Indiana Pacers ran against the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals the Spurs ran a misdirection play against the Heat in the NBA Finals. Using the presence of #21 Tim Duncan they made it look like he was getting a cross screen, before #2 Kawhi Leonard turned right back around to set a stagger with #21 Tim Duncan for #20 Manu Ginobili. Basketball Play - Ohio State's 4 man STS

Ohio State's 4 man STS

Kyle Brown 01/15/2013

Another really good set from Ohio State's game vs Michigan. The key to this play is the 4 man tight curling the flare and immediately going into the cross screen with 5. That way he can create seperation for himself when 1 downscreens for him. Although they finished the play with 1 coming out on the baseline side, this play could also easily finish in another Cross Screen for the 5 See More

A misdirection look to get the ball inside. 1 has to be a tough player to go and dig out the 5 man on the cross screen. 1's defender goes from chasing a back screen to helping on a cross screen. Can finish into a STS action. See More

Basketball Play - UCLA with Pin Down

UCLA with Pin Down

Basketball HQ 09/22/2012

This is a multiple screen play that has several different reads. After you come off the UCLA screen and go to set the cross screen the person has the option of coming off of your cross screen or the pin down screen, it is their read. If he comes off your cross screen then you are going to come off the pin down screen. Just read the defense and play out of the set to get a good look. The UCLA screen needs to be a good screen because this will cause the defense to have to shift and become the first crack in the defensive break down. Cutter in the corner needs to read his defender and decide if he should come off the cross screen or pin down screen. Be a threat to score as you come off each screen. This play is from the 2007-2008 Chicago Bulls season. See More
