Last night in their buzzer beating loss to the UCONN Huskies, the Florida Gators ran this elevator play to revive their offense in the 2nd half. This is a play that ESPN Analyst Seth Greenberg talked about during the broadcast, breaking down the elevator screen. I drew the 5-1 pick in grey because it does not have to be added but is a nice tweak. In the event you need a 2 in this situation, a quick slip from 5 is also a nice option after setting the screen. One small piece of this play that is very popular is sending the post passer through to the weak side. Many coaches keep their post passer strong side and this allows for an easy dig or double down which disturbs the post isolation. See More

Head Coach Billy Donovan has a wealth of experience and the way he runs his half court sets demonstrates this. Here is "America's play", a simple Horns action with a STS action at the end setting up either post entry or a possible jump shot. From here, the Gators go right into their Ball Screen Motion which they do a great job of executing. This is a play from the Lokomotiv Urban Krasnodar vs Panathinaikos Athens in the Euroleague on Friday night. It is a great Horns set vs M2M utilizing a middle screen at the end for a lob pass or backdoor lay-up opportunity. This set does a good job of taking away weak side help by clearing the wing setting up the middle screen and pass option at the basket Panathinaikos has won the Euroleague 6x's and is one of the most storied clubs in Europe. Lokomotiv was founded back in 1946 and has been in the city of Krasnodar since 2009. See More
