Favorite Send to FastDrawRun by the LA Sparks in their 74-72 victory over the CT Sun 8/6/2013. Horns set with misdirection screens that ends with a PG setting a ball screen in the middle of the floor for a 4 who can handle. Having a 1 guard the screener and 4 guard the ball handler takes players out of their natural coverage. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHorns set using a flare screen to get the ball into the post. If the post feed from 1 to 4 is not open. 5 screens 3 then rescreens for the middle ball screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis set was ran by the LA Lakers Summer League Team. There are a lot of different options from this play and it is really important for your point guard to make the right decision. I really like how this play opens up the floor on the ball side, but keeps the defenders busy on the weak side. The 1st option is a dibble handoff between the 5 and 3 The 2nd option is a kickout to the 1 and then a Pick & Roll with the 5 to open up three different looks See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a quick hitter used by the Miami Heat that will give you two quick options for either a three or a post entry. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA counter to an action that everyone is running to get 5 post touch. The play finishes with 2 coming across to set a second screen on x5 See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOn the last day of the Orlando NBA Summer League, the Detroit Pistons ran this simple continuity horns action for multiple pick & rolls. Popping your bigs and having them pass and sprint into continuous pick & rolls is not only hard to guard, but will help them if they play at the next level. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Orlando Magic ran this simultaneous pin down action yesterday out of the horns set. This is a very simple play to put into your system that gives you multiple scoring options. Options: 1. While 4 help defenders are occupied with the pindowns 1 has the option to take his man on the dribble to the rim or pull-up jumper. 2. Hit 2 or 3 on the pop or curl for a shot. 3. If 2 or 3 do not make a scoring play, have the big set a side or step-up pick & roll for them. 4. If X4 or X5 over help on the pin down, slip your bigs to the rim for a lob. 5. Have 2 and 3 come off the pindowns and set up in a horns set for pick & roll options for 1. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Spurs ran a nice variety of stuff out of the classic Horns set. They also loved to do things with a stagger action. Here they got their 2 the ball off a stagger and immediatly into a dribble handoff. This put the defense in a trailing position, and allowed the 5 to slip right to the rim for a basket against the Miami Heat. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOpening play of the second half ran by Miami in their game 7 win. The Spurs defended the first three actions well but the spacing and ball movement led to a James drive and dish to a cutting Bosh. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Heat ran this set to cut the Spurs lead to 9 with 2:02 left in game 5. Green went over the top of the flare and ended up chasing Allen. Miller cut to the strong corner clearing out the weakside for the ball reversal to Bosh and basket cut for an Allen layup. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawElbow set run by the Heat in their game 5 win over the Pacers. Having a great shooter setting and running off screens forces the defense to provide a lot of help on the screens and be very active. Rolling James down the lane put a lot of pressure on the defense and it had to pull in leaving Haslem for the open jumper. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat ran this play midway through the 1st quarter of Game 2 of the 2013 NBA Finals verus the San Antonio Spurs. Setting two different angled screens is very effective, especially when the opponent is flat hedging the screens. Further more, setting the screens lower and lower also makes it more difficult to guard because make the rotations off of shooters to help much longer. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Heat ran this play in the 3rd quarter of their game 5 win over the Pacers. The actions is very similar to the play posted here http://www.fastmodelsports.com/library/basketball/fastdraw/2187/play-Elbow-Weak-Stagger The difference is instead of 4 screening 1 into a 2 man game with 3, 4 turns back to set the ball screen. Haslem's man was zoning the middle of the lane to protect a back door cut, a hard curl, or a slip. By having Haslem set the screen there was no type of help coverage on the ball screen and James had a wide open 17 ft. jump shot. See More
