Up Duck-In
03/13/2014This is a similar play run by Bruce Pearl when he was at Tennessee. His bigs did an excellent job sealing on the duck-in and getting easy catch & shoots. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis option out of the 1-4 flat set has been run by several SEC teams in previous weeks. This play is difficult to guard because X3 usually is not able to jump over top fo the screen into help before getting hit. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis action from the 1-4 set is for your best/strongest player who can finish at the rim. If you have watched UCF play this year, you would have noticed that they run this play frequently for Isaiah Sykes. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play has multiple scoring options from beginning to end. As 2 comes off the hand-off he can look to score or feed 5 ducking in hard in the middle of the lane. The other two options are 1 coming off the pin-down and 3 slipping to the rim after screening for 1. 4 is also a possible throwback option for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIf you are in need of a three point play with the ball out of bounds, this is a great action to run for your shooter. 2 must do a great job selling the play by setting up his man before sprinting off the baseline screens. If the defense scrambles and overhelps on 2, look opposite as 1 may get open at the end. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Iowa Hawkeyes frequented this play in their 2014 First Four game vs Tennessee. As 2 came off the pick, naturally X3 sat in help to prevent an easy drive and the second that X3 lost contact with 3, 3 shot backdoor for a lay-up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWhile Florida struggled throughout the game to knock down shots from the outside, the Gators dominated the paint from start to finish vs Albany. What makes this play hard to guard is by sending 1 through to the corner, the defense must send X4 down to the corner, making it a 2 on 1 vs X5 in the paint. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 2.7 seconds left to play in regulation, the UCONN Huskies had the ball, tied with Saint Joseph's, full length of the court. UCONN's Kevin Ollie drew up this dandy; unfortunately the shot was missed but the Huskies eventually won in overtime. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn need of 2 points towards the end of the 2nd half, Arizona State’s Herb Sendek drew up this BLOB play for his Sun Devils. Watching the play develop I was sure they would get the ball to 3 curling into the lane, but they decided to wait and use the flare for 2. The shot was off target but ASU secured the offensive rebound to tie the game with two free-throws. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn their opening round upset over the Duke Devils, the Mercer Bears frequented this play to sneak their dominant big man Coursey to the block for an easy catch and shoot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFrequenting their baseline series all game, Florida head coach Billy Donovan ran this tweak to the set adding in a double side pick & roll. This line-up for Florida is extremely versatile because they essentially have three point guards on the floor, one being 6'8" (4) Dorian Finney-Smith, in addition to (2) Hill and 1 (Wilbekin). As 1 (Wilbekin) came off the double pick & roll he had multiple options of attack: 1. Attack the rim or pull-up 2. Drop down pass to Young (5) rolling. 3. 2 and 3 spotting up on the weak side wing 4. Throwback to versatile (4) Finney-Smith who can catch & shoot or attack the rim See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWichita State Shockers ran this simple quick hitter for a post-up in the opening minutes of their round of 32 game vs Kentucky. The timing and execution of this play was absolutely beautiful. As the ball was in flight from 1 to 2, 5 set the backscreen for 4; so as 4 was rolling to the rim 2 fired a pass for an And-1 finish. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Wichita State Shockers ran this pick & roll flare (post-up) play towards the end of the 1st half in their 3rd round NCAA tournament game vs Kentucky. By spacing your shooters 2 and 3 in the corners you create a three-man game in which there is minimal help-the helper defense to allow for 4 and 5 to work together in the hi-low. To see EVERY play Wichita State ran in the 2013 Final Four you can do so in my eBook Championship Execution! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSyracuse ran this double pick & roll to get forward C.J. Fair posted up in an iso situation. By setting a stagger for 2, the Orange essentially cleared out any help defense for the isolation. For every play Syracuse ran during the 2013 Final Four check out my eBook, “Championship Execution”. Favorite Send to FastDrawCoastal Carolina run this quick isolation a few times in their NCAA tournament loss to the Virginia Cavaliers. While the Chanticleers lost the game, they had a lot of success with this play. See More
