Favorite Send to FastDrawIn their Game 4 win of the 2014 NBA Finals, the San Antonio Spurs ran this half-court set which included a multitude of actions. As soon as 3 cleared 4, 2 was moving to set the backscreen. This timing allowed for 5 to pin-down for 2 and receive the ball on the move popping out. 5 set such a good pick and sealed in the lane that X4 had to help in the lane and allowed for an open throwback to Diaw. Favorite Send to FastDrawI recently watched some video from last year's Brayden Carr Foundation Coaching Clinic run by coach Jim Carr. This play came from the legendary John Lucas and is a very simple sideline out-of-bounds play from the side that gives you a lob. Main goal of this action is to get the lob to 5 at the rim. However, if the defense takes away the lob you have 4 cutting hard to the top for a catch & shoot as well. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawAfter a furious comeback in the 4th quarter last night, the Chicago Bulls ran this sideline out-of-bounds play with 1.5 seconds remaining to beat the Atlanta Hawks in Pre-Season action. In typical fashion of any great Need play, Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau drew up a screen the screener action to create enough space and allow the catch & shoot for Butler before the defense could recover. Favorite Send to FastDrawLast night during LeBron James' homecoming, the Cleveland Cavaliers ran this action to start off their game vs the Knicks to kick off the 2014-15 season. Running LeBron to the weak side put more attention on the pin-down for 5 (Varejao) as the Knicks thought the action would be going to James' side of the floor. However, the Cavs sneaked in 4 (Love) behind the rim off a cross screen and was able to seal his defender for an easy catch and score. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTom Izzo's Spartans ran this play Sunday night in their game vs Oakland. What I love about this plays is that there is a scoring option for all five players within the sequence. Options: 2 is able to curl and get into the lane on the initial catch Hand-off to 1 for a lay-up Catch & shoot for 3 (OR pass to 5 if he slips to the rim and X5 over-helps) Throwback to 4 for a shot Throwback to 4 for a post feed to 5 See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawUCONN's Geno Auriemma demonstrated this play this Summer at Coaching U Live in Las Vegas. This is a simple action that you get the floor moving early in the offense and keeping both bigs involved and creating hard to guard situations. As 3 comes off the pick, if X5 engages the ball and helps, a throwback to 5 may lead to a quick feed to 4. However, if 5 quickly shows and starts to get back, that is opportunity for 4 to come out and flare 5...4 has another opportunity to slip after setting the flare. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDuring Christmas Day action, the Washington Wizards ran this excellent twist pick & roll action that freed up Wall for an easy mid-range jumper. Having two shooters spaced in each corner opened up the middle alley and allowed Wall & company to run this play very efficiently. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Florida Gators ran this Horns action in their Southeastern Conference opening win vs South Carolina. I have seen this play run recently but what I liked about this action was how 4 cleaned up the action at the end with the staggered pick & roll. Spacing 2 and 3 in the corners allows for an open/spaced floor for 5 to sprint to the rim while 1 tries to create. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is another play Billy Donovan ran last night in their victory over South Carolina. While the emphasis of this play is to get 3 a shot via the elevator screen, there is also an inside opportunity as well. By placing Finney-Smith at the 3, this game the Gators a bigger target inside off the initial pin-down action. Furthermore, with so much attention at the FT-line area, this is also a great opportunity for 1 to ball fake and drive baseline to the rim with the only help defender being X2. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe New Orleans Pelicans ran this play several nights ago to get Anthony Davis (5) screened into a spread pick & roll. Most NBA teams run this action with a single (or sometimes double as pictured) weakside pin-down for a catch & shoot at the elbow/slot area. I really like how the Pelicans turned this action into a screen the screener for Davis. The staggers, along with spacing Ryan Anderson (3) wide, caused the coverage on the pick & roll to be late and eliminating any help defenders in the paint for a easy pick & roll dunk. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSaturday night in their ESPN College Gameday game in Gainesville vs Florida, the Kentucky Wildcats run this quick double-backscreen play to start the 2nd half. What made this play so effective was the timing by 3 who hesitated at the top of the key before 5 caught the ball. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe UCONN Huskies ran this play in the 2014 National Championship game. As 1 came off the initial pick, X2 picked him forcing the pass to 2. Immediately 4 picks X2 and attacks X4 for a simple 2-man game on the wing. With 5 rolling after the initial pick X5 should be somewhat occupied in the event 2 turns the corner and attacks.
