Basketball Play - Stack

Stack

Kyle Gilreath 05/02/2013

This is a baseline out of bounds play that I ran this season with my high school team. Initially when I drew up this action I invisioned utilizing the ending of the play to get 5 a lay-up. But the option that was usually open was 3 cutting to the wing for a shot. 5 was rarely open for 2 reasons; one was a lack of patience and two being that they would forget to run this option. Nevertheless, this is a simple play that I believe can be utilized at every level of the game. See More

Basketball Play - Weak Side Pindown

Weak Side Pindown

John Leonzo 05/01/2013

Here is a great quick hitter that can be run right out of transition that Iowa State used numerous times throughout this past season. The quick hitter is tremendous because it flows right out of transition and seeks to put the ball in the hands of your best players (2 and 5) multiple times. Also, this play creates great spacing for your trail man (5 in this play) to get the ball in an isolation scenario if the other options are not available. See More

Basketball Play - Flex Option

Flex Option

John Leonzo 04/30/2013

Here is a quick hitter that is run out of a box set and involves a little misdirection. In this play, 2 is your best shooter and you are looking for multiple opportunities for him to get the ball in a scoring position whether it be off of the flex cut, or off of the pin down from 4. If this play is executed properly, it could be a great asset to add to your offensive arsenal. See More

Basketball Play - Pacers-BS Elbow HIt

Pacers-BS Elbow HIt

Kyle Brown 04/30/2013

An action the Pacers ran against the Hawks in Game 1. This is a great action against teams that hard hedge or trap the ballscreen. The Hawks were behind and really trapping the high ballscreen, the Pacers ran this for layups and open jumpshots down the stretch. THe 4 man only has to make a read on the guy guarding 2, if he stays in and helps in on 5s dive then 2 will be open for the jump shot. See More

Basketball Play - Double Flare to Ball Screen

Double Flare to Ball Screen

Daniel Murphy 04/29/2013

Opening play from the first game of OKC/Houston, 4/21/13, which OKC won 120-91. This play starts with misdirection, running the teams most potent scorer off of a double flare screen. The two bigs then rescreen for the best driver on the team. A shooter spaces in the weakside corner to stretch the floor. See More

Basketball Play - Triple to Post

Triple to Post

Randy Brown 04/29/2013

This can be run for any of your perimeter players who can post and score. Point passes to wing and cuts to opposite corner. Pick and pop by 4 as 3, 4, and 5 set triple screen for point. 1 takes the open post cutting high or low as screeners space out on left side. Give it try! See More
