Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Cleveland Caveliers ran this set after a time out in the first quarter of game 5 of the 2017 NBA Finals to get J.R. Smith a look at 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe strength of this SLOB set is the multiple scoring options. There is an early option for a lay-up, on a shuffle cut. This is followed by back-to-back double stagger screens for shooters. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Golden State Warriors ran this after a time out in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The play resulted in an open 3 point shot for Klay Thompson. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Golden State Warriors used this play early in Game 3 of the NBA Finals to get a look for Klay Thompson (1) off of a post entry action. It's a great play to get the defense to guard multiple actions and get the ball back in your point guard's hands for a shot. The double drag at the beginning of the play was a decoy action to get the ball into the post. After the post entry 1 & 5 set a staggered split screen for 2, who cut to the basket off of 1. 1 was getting overplayed on the screen from 5 and rejected the screen to go backdoor for a layup. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Golden State Warriors ran this play to start the 4th quarter in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. It is a variation of the "Loop" play that they run, which Steve Kerr brought over from his time with the San Antonio Spurs. Normally 3 would curl around 5 to receive the pass up top from 1. In this play 3 curls around 5 to the FT line and 1 passes to 5 in the post. 3 & 1 then set a staggered screen for 2. 2 curls around 3's screen and cuts to the basket to receive the pass from 5. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is my favorite BLOB of the 2017 NBA season. It begins with a double stagger, to get a catch. After the catch, the Clippers throw to 5, to initiate a "Pistol" action. The 5 does a dribble hand-off, followed by a down screen, and run to the rim. The 1 can turn the corner, throw back to the shooter behind the drive, or look for the 5 on the lob. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis BLOB has resulted in multiple big shots for the Cleveland Cavs. They ran it for a Kyrie Irving three pointer, in the 2016 NBA Playoffs against Detroit. They also ran it, as an ATO, in the 2017 NBA Playoffs for a game clinching lay-up. The stack formation makes it especially difficult to guard, as the defense can not pre-switch any of the actions. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Boston Celtics used some misdirection action to get the ball into the post in this ATO late in game 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. After the ball is inbounded to 3, 5 & 4 set a decoy staggered screen for 1. 5 slips the first screen to get the ball isolated in the post, where he can attack 1 on 1. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Boston Celtics used this play to get Avery Bradley (2) open for the winning shot in game 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. With the score tied and 10.7 seconds left, the Celtics had the option of going for a 2 or a 3. The play started with 3 curling around the first screen of the stagger and cutting to the basket. If defended correctly, 3 will still have a 1 on 1 opportunity in the post and 2 can come off the pindown screen. The Cavs sent two defenders after 3 though, which got 2 the open shot off the down screen from 5. See More

Favorite Send to FastDraw"The Hill" is named after Greenhill School in Addison, Texas. At the 2017 TABC (Texas Association of Basketball Coaches) Clinic, there was a "Pass the Chalk" Event. This SLOB was drawn by Greenhill School boys varsity basketball coach, Joey Sims. I have added a double stagger to the end of the set, so that there is a secondary action, if the lob is not available. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn a pivotal Game 6 of the 2017 NBA Playoffs, the Celtics were struggling offensively. Brad Stevens is excellent at designing multiple set sequences, to help his team find a rhythm. In the 2nd quarter, the Celtics ran this sequence, scoring on two of the three possessions. The only possession that they did not score was an open 3, which rimmed out. It was a terrific sequence, which kept the defense off balance. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe LA Clippers ran this lob play early in game 5 against the Utah Jazz. As 1 gets the dribble handoff from 5, 4 runs off of a double screen as a decoy clearing the defense to set up the lob. 2 sets a back screen for 5 putting the defense in a position where x2 has to help guard 5. 1 makes a lob pass to 5 at the rim. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Milwaukee Bucks ran this play early in game 6 against the Toronto Raptors to get an opportunity for a post up for 4 or 2 coming off a staggered screen for a shot. This is a difficult play for x2 to defend as has to provide help on the screen for x4 and get through the staggered screens to take away a shot from 2. See More
