Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we have a set play to get a dynamic driver some space to operate. The play uses some false motion to open space up for a brush screen to be used to try to create an advantage to drive to the basket. I love these gap drive actions to take some pressure off the driver, and make the defense execute with the brush screen. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we try to steal some points with a set play designed to slip a ball screener to the rim. As simple as the action is, it works far more often than you think it might. It flows right into a spread ball screen option if the cheap points don't materialize. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we are looking at an entry into the flex offense. This is a methodical continuity set, aimed at getting the defense to slip up on defending screens off the ball. I like all the cutting, screening and movement. I think it limits penetration opportunities to a certain extent, and makes your players a bit robotic running the pattern. But time has proven, the flex offense can be very effective, especially at the high school level. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis action in the diagram and embedded video uses a hard curl on a slice screen to try to put pressure on the defense. If the screen is solid and the cut hard, it sets up a stagger screen very well. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at two sets that work together to look similar, but produce different scoring opportunities. I will always be a sucker for a well executed hammer set. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video, we have an option for using a brush screen to get a dynamic driver a gap to penetrate. If this play is well timed, it will create an advantage for the offense. I like the simplicity and the spacing. I like that it can create an advantage quickly, and doesn't require a lot of players to handle the ball. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a 5 Out alignment to create a driving gap. We pin down screen into a DHO to create the gap, and space a shooter in the corner to keep the defense honest. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we go through a series of drills we used with our post players during our guard/post breakdown portion of practice. We believed that using these basic drills on a regular basis would improve the footwork and touch of our interior players. We used medicine balls instead of basketballs while we filmed this, but that was not a regular occurrence. Favorite Send to FastDrawHere are some basic options used by the Florida Gators in their Five-Out Offense. First the REVERSE option where the Gators pass side-top-side then screen away. This unlocks curls, rejects and pop backs and links to some Princeton Offense concepts. A few years ago, I diagrammed this idea of taking some Motion Strong concepts and linking them with Point Series from the Princeton Offense. You can check out that playbook here. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a series of plays that all play off of each other. The series uses the same movement pattern to make it difficult for the defense to understand what is going to happen through scouting. Some of the these actions are pretty clever! Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a skill development drill to work on developing a player’s weak hand dribbling. It is an “on air” drill aimed at developing dribbling technique. This drill can be used all the way up to varsity level, but is best suited for youth levels, middle school and sub-varsity. The video explains in more detail. Visit my Sellfy store for detailed coaching materials written by me - https://sellfy.com/coachhack.go/ Follow me on Twitter - @CoachHackGO See More
