Basketball Play - Duke Blue Devils - Flash Hold

Duke Blue Devils - Flash Hold

Dave Nedbalek 11/09/2018

This may not be the most innovative set, but it is the essence of good offense: get your best player the ball in spots where he/she can be effective. Duke will flash Reddish or Williamson to the elbow extended area and space off of him. They are trusting in their decision making, but also trusting that regardless of the defense knowing exactly what is coming they will find a way. The worst thing you can do to elite players is neutralize their skill by running them through aimless sets. As quickly as possible, get your best player the ball in their spot. For those of us that don't have 5 lottery picks on our roster, I added a wrinkle to the last frame that might serve you well with some split action around the catch. Basketball Play - Texas Longhorns - 4 Flat Twist

Texas Longhorns - 4 Flat Twist

Dave Nedbalek 11/18/2020

Another action from Shaka Smart that the Longhorns utilized efficiently in the '19-20 season was this 4 flat into a twisted ball screen. This action would be used to counter teams that hard hedged or tried to show aggressively to contain the Longhorn guards. With the last minute twist to the screen it would penalize good coverage and leave runways for the Longhorn perimeter players to drive, cut, dish and repeat. The beauty is in the simplicity. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More

You can move players around and feature any player as the go to guy in this play. See More

Basketball Play - Thad Boyle Elbow Stagger / Mid Ball Screen

Thad Boyle Elbow Stagger / Mid Ball Screen

Dana Beszczynski 01/12/2014

This is a nice play run by Thad Boyle and the Buffs of Colorado The Buffs have a very talented PG in Spencer Dinwiddie who with his size and athletic ability can really breakdown a defense The use of the UCLA screen to set-up the double stagger is well executed and what makes this play well designed is the end when no shot is available, as it runs right into a SPNR with an open floor for Dinwiddie to breakdown the defense or read and make the kick-out pass See More

Basketball Play - Terry Stotts' Need 3

Terry Stotts' Need 3

Mark Travis 01/12/2013

Down three with a minute to go with the defending champion Miami Heat in his building, Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts designed a brilliant play to get his team a wide open look at a game-tying three. Thanks to his beautifiul design and his players' flawless execution, the Blazers were able to tie the game on that possession and ended up securing a signature win over LeBron and company as a result. Keep an eye on Stotts, by the way, because his team is 5-0 in overtime this season and he has run some very nice stuff. See More
