Classic back door action from the Princeton offense. Double stack set and wing pass entry. 1 clears to opposite corner and 2 fills high. 3 dribbles hard at the right elbow as 4 walks his defender to the corner. 3 picks up the ball and forward pivots away from defender. This is cue for 4 to cut back door to receive pass from 3 for a lay up. See More

The more I look at screening and cutting offensively, the more I realize the importance of setting up screens and cuts, and reading screens and cuts. Defensively, sound principles of fighting through screens, stunting to the ball on pindowns, maintaining vision of ball and man and foot faking and recovering in disadvantage situations can not be overemphasized. Mark Gottfried frequented this half-court offense set while the head coach at the University of Alabama. The main reason this play was so successful was because Gottfried had a 5 man in 6'9" 255 lb Richard Hendrix. Hendrix was a force inside and almost impossible to move off the block. Once you got sealed, it was an automatic two points. If X3 tried chasing this screen, 3 occasionally would be open for a lay-up. See More

Box set with 1 dribbling to left wing. 3 and 2 down screen for 4 as 5 posts up. Ball is reversed to 4 and he pass fakes to the right wing and returns the ball to 1 on the left wing. On the catch 5 sets on ball screen for 1 for ball penetration to the paint. On weak side 3 uses down screens by 2 and 4 to separate for shot. See More
